What an amazing time we had during Science Week here at ISF!
The Theme was “Curiosity: What Is Your Question?”
Our Year 3/4 class was buzzing with ideas and eager to investigate. We took part in amazing STEAM activities that challenged our thinking in exciting ways.
We explored questions like: How do birds build nests? What sort of vehicle would be best on the moon? What is the best design for a paper aeroplane?
Through these hands-on challenges, we had a blast discovering how to think like structural engineers while building nests (using a clothe-spin to mimic a beak), vehicle designers when we collaborated on a ‘moon buggy’ design, and experts in aircraft technology when we crafted paper aeroplanes. We tested, redesigned, and improved our creations, learning and making changes along the way.
We also strengthened important skills throughout the week, such as resilience, creativity, collaboration, curiosity, and careful observation.
Science Week truly inspired us to keep asking questions and to see every problem as an opportunity to discover something new.
